“What’s better then free money?” Dr. B (my current principal) So I found this website…Donorschoose.org |
I read this in another post but have to share with all those who read this. I think it’s ingenious.
Liquid Soap: My very favorite tip is probably one that I picked up last summer. Wind a large rubber band around the nozzle of the soap dispenser so that when the students push it down, it only goes down about half way. This gives them half a squirt instead of a full squirt which is too much for washing small hands. This has saved us countless amounts of wasted soap. Adults are allowed 2 squirts!
I’m sure most blogs start this way, “I’ve never blogged before”. So why should I be different then anyone else.
I have been teaching for 12 years. The last 5 have been in Moderate disabilities. The opportunity fell in my lap during the summer after my 5th year in Gen Ed. when I was looking for something different in my life. I started in a SDC Learning Handicapped classroom. I did this for 2 years, when the opportunity to transfer with in my school to Gen Ed. came to me.
I taught the MH class for 3 years on an Elementary campus when right before Spring Break I was told I was graduating to Middle School. The past 2 years have been the best years of my teaching career.
I feel as if my road was always leading me toward secondary education, moderate disabilities.
I have an amazing team working with me and can’t wait to share with all of you my past, present and future experiences. I hope you enjoy your trip down my road.
